Pick a pattern

Four patterns, by name

Each with the time it takes, so you can plan your day before you book.

  1. 90–150 min

    Straight-back

Rows run front to back along the head, parted by hand and braided flat. Thin, medium or wide.

  2. 2–3.5 hr

    Feed-in

Braiding hair is added row by row, so each braid starts fine at the hairline and builds to a fuller line.

  3. 2.5–4 hr

    Stitch

Evenly spaced stitches along each row, with sharp parts and a clean grid. The most exact of the four.

  4. 2–3.5 hr

    Zigzag

Parts that turn and curve: a zigzag, a wave, a crown, or the design you bring.

Questions people ask first

How long will my appointment take?

Every service on the menu shows a range, and your braider narrows it for your hair. Cornrows can be done in about two hours. Long braids can take most of a day, so plan around it.

How long does a style last?

Cornrows are usually worn two to four weeks. Long braids and twists are usually worn four to eight, with a touch-up at the edges if you want one.

Do you braid men's hair?

Yes. Cornrows, twists and loc care for men are a large part of what we do, and so are teens' styles.

Can I bring my own braiding hair?

Yes. Tell us the brand and the color when you book, and we'll say how much to buy. Or we can supply it, and that is priced and agreed first.

Do I need to come with my hair washed?

Come with it detangled. If you'd like it washed and blow-dried first, book a wash and blow-dry before your style.

What if a braid feels too tight?

Say so right away. We loosen it, or take it out and redo it, while you're in the chair.
