Services

What we braid, and how long it takes

Grouped by the kind of work. Book a service on its own, or start with a consultation and bring a photo.

Cornrow patterns

Braids that lie flat against the scalp, in the pattern you choose.

  • Straight-back cornrows

    90–150 min

Clean rows from the front to the nape, parted by hand. Thin, medium or wide, with your own hair or with braiding hair added.

    Book: Straight-back cornrows
  • Feed-in cornrows

    2–3.5 hr

Braiding hair is added a little at a time, so each row starts fine at the hairline and builds to a fuller braid.

  • Stitch braids

    2.5–4 hr

Sharp, evenly spaced stitches along each row, with crisp parts. Slow, careful work that holds its lines.

  • Zigzag and curved parts

    2–3.5 hr

Rows that turn, wave or circle: a zigzag, a crown, a design you bring in a photo. We map it out on your head before the first braid.

Long braids

Braids that hang long and loose, for a style you wear for weeks.

  • Box braids

    4–7 hr

Square parts and braiding hair added at the root, in small, medium or large. The smaller the part, the longer the day.

  • Knotless braids

    4.5–7.5 hr

Braids that start flat and add hair a little at a time, so the root sits lighter. Same sizes, a little more time.

  • Two-strand twists

    3–5 hr

Rope twists in your own hair or with hair added, from short to long. A softer look that takes less time than a braid.

  • Fulani braids

    3–5 hr

Locs

Care and styling for locs you already have.

    90–150 min

New growth rolled between the palms at the root, row by row, for a soft, round loc.

    Book: Palm-roll retwist
  • Interlock retwist

    2–3 hr

New growth tightened with a looping pattern that holds between visits. For locs that are ready for it.

    Book: Interlock retwist
  • Loc style

    60–120 min

Locs braided up, pinned back or barrel-twisted for an event, a week or a change.

    Book: Loc style
  • Loc wash and retwist

    2–3 hr

A wash and a conditioning step, a dry under the dryer, then a retwist at the root.

  • Wash and blow-dry

    45–60 min

Washed, conditioned and blow-dried stretched and smooth, ready for braiding. Book it before a long style.

    Book: Wash and blow-dry
  • Take-down and detangle

    1–2.5 hr

Out of braids or twists? We take the style down gently, detangle and wash your hair.

    Book: Take-down and detangle
  • Edge touch-up

    30–45 min

A tidy-up of the hairline and the parts on a cornrow style that is a couple of weeks old.

    Book: Edge touch-up

Prices depend on the pattern, the size of the braids and the length, and they show when you book. The times are ranges; your braider gives you one for your hair.

Before you pick a service

Do I need a consultation first?

New clients with a long style or a custom pattern do. It takes 20 minutes, and we agree on the pattern, the size and the time. Straight-back rows and the shorter visits you can book directly.

Do you do weaves, wigs or sew-ins?

No. We braid, twist and care for locs. If you ask for something we don't do, we'll say so before you book.

Why isn't there a price on each service?

Braiding is priced by the time, and the time depends on the pattern, the size and your hair. Your braider gives you the price when you book.

Not sure where to start?

Send us a photo of a pattern you like, or book a consultation.
