Looking after your braids
What we tell clients before they leave. Your braider will adjust it for your style.
At night
Cover your braids with a satin scarf or bonnet, or sleep on a satin pillowcase, to cut down on frizz.
Washing
Wash the scalp every week or two with diluted shampoo and rinse well. Squeeze the water out and let the braids dry all the way through.
Your scalp
Keep it clean and lightly moisturized. If it itches or feels sore, tell us, and take the style down if it keeps on.
Your edges
Keep tight styles off the hairline. If your edges feel strained, loosen the style or come in for a touch-up.
How long to keep it
Cornrows two to four weeks. Long braids and twists four to eight. Past that, new growth tangles at the root.
Taking it down
Don't rush it. Come in for a take-down and detangle, and we'll go slowly so your hair comes out intact.
